City Council gives Al Garcia special recognition
The Paso Robles City Council last Tuesday evening recognized local community volunteer Al Garcia who is retiring out of the area.
Garcia devoted six years as a planning commissioner; played an important role in the formation, adoption and implementation of the Uptown/Town Center Specific Plan and the city’s innovative Purple Belt Program; was a strong advocate for the city’s Oak Tree Protection ordinance; helped with the implementation of the redesign of the Oak Park Housing project; and was instrumental in the formation of the city’s Housing Constraints and Opportunities Committee where he served as a founding member.
“Thank you to Al Garcia for your service and dedication and good luck in the next chapter of your life,” the city said in a statement.
