City council reads proclamation honoring Dr. Martin Luther King

Public encouraged to attend celebration on Saturday

Paso Robles City Council read a proclamation Tuesday night honoring the city’s annual event celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King. Lovelle Walker, an event organizer and city employee, accepted the proclamation Tuesday night and encouraged everyone to attend the celebration on Saturday.

The celebration will be held this year between 1-3 on Saturday afternoon at Flamson Middle School. People are encouraged to assemble at noon at 21st and Gregory, by the Fairgrounds south gate. In a March for Unity, participants will walk to Flamson Middle School. For safety reasons, the march will be conducted on the sidewalks.

At Flamson Middle School there will be musical performances, drama, youth art and a dynamic guest speaker.

The celebration will run from 1-3 Saturday afternoon at Flamson Middle School. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
