City hires interim Battalion Chief Richard Gallagher

The city of Paso Robles recently hired Richard Gallagher as its interim battalion chief for the fire department.

Gallagher was born and raised in West Los Angeles attending Santa Monica College and California State University, Long Beach; earning an associates of art degree from Santa Monica and a bachelor degree from Long Beach State.

Gallagher is a certified Chief Officer, Fire Marshal, Incident Commander and a licensed general building contractor.

Gallagher served thirty-one years with the Culver City Fire Department retiring as the city’s fire marshal to assume the fire chief’s position with Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, one of the largest film studios in the U.S.

Gallagher’s experience provides a background of leadership and management experience in fire, emergency services, with city staff and elected officials, the city said in a statement.

Gallagher lives in Hermosa Beach with his wife, Debra.
