    City invites residents to join community advisory committees 

    City invites residents to join community advisory committeesApplications are due by 5 p.m. on May 1

    – The Paso Robles Community Services Department is accepting applications for positions on the Library Board of Trustees, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, the Youth Commission, and the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee. These boards and committees assist the City Council by gathering public input. Members serve two- to three-year terms beginning July 1.

    Applications are due by 5 p.m. on May 1, with interviews scheduled for May 21. Additional information about the vacancies and applications is available on the city’s website.

    “The City’s Boards and Advisory Bodies provide Paso Robles residents with a meaningful way to contribute to their community and help shape its future,” said Angelica Fortin, director of community services for Paso Robles. “We encourage community members who are passionate about making a difference to apply and get involved in these important committees.”

    The Library Board of Trustees advises on library matters, assists in developing policies, makes recommendations on programs and services, and provides feedback on community library needs. The board meets in person on the second Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. One position is available for a three-year term.

    The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee provides input on recreational areas such as parks and playgrounds, interprets community recreation programs, suggests policies, and serves as the Public Art Review Committee. This committee meets in person on the second Monday of the month at 4 p.m. There are two open positions for three-year terms.

    The Youth Commission is a youth-led organization that collaborates with local government to provide opportunities and representation for young people in Paso Robles. The commission meets in person on the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. Members must be between the ages of 14 and 21. Three positions are available, each serving a two-year term.

    The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee makes recommendations on issues of interest to senior citizens. The committee meets in person on the second Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m. There are two open positions, with members serving three-year terms.
