City looking for volunteers to serve on ‘Short Term Rental Task Force’

–The Paso Robles City Council has requested the creation of a citizens’ task force to examine the issue of short-term rentals, also referred to as “vacation rentals.” The task force will consist of 5-7 members, representing all sides of the short-term rentals issue and will be responsible for developing a comprehensive set of recommendations for council consideration.Paso-Robles-City-Logo

Short-term rentals are homes and second units that are rented out for less than 30 days at a time. It is estimated that there are more than 300 now in operation in Paso Robles, many without having obtained the necessary business license, according to the city.

The city is seeking a mix of perspectives to participate in the task force, in order to develop recommendations that are best overall for our community. Individuals interested in serving on the task force need to complete the application and return it to the city by April 6.

    • Task force will meet 1-2 hours on a weekly basis at City Hall.
    • Meetings will begin in mid-April.
    • The task force will be asked to develop a set of consensus recommendations to the City Council.

Task Force Applications and additional information may be obtained from the city web site at: www.prcity.com/government/
