Safety
• When purchasing a costume, look for the label “Flame Resistant”

• Face paint is safer than masks
• If a mask is worn, be sure it has eye holes large enough to allow full vision
• Young children should always be accompanied by an adult or an older, responsible child
• Children should be cautioned against running out from between parked cars, or across lawns and yards where ornaments, furniture, or clotheslines present dangers
• Always use crosswalks, and cross with an adult
• Children should go only to homes where the residents are known and have outside lights on as a sign of welcome
Halloween Fire Safety
• Halloween is a fun time but it’s also an important time to practice fire safety. The occurrence of fire increases around Halloween due to the use of candles as decorations
