City shares tips for enjoying Fourth of July celebration
Only fireworks authorized for public display are allowed
– The City of Paso Robles and Travel Paso will host the annual Fourth of July celebration at Barney Schwartz Park on Friday, July 4. The free event will include family activities, live music, food, and a fireworks display.
Festivities will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature bounce houses, obstacle courses, cornhole, field games, a misting tent and other activities. A live broadcast by KJUG will take place from 4 to 7 p.m., and Moonshiner Collective will perform live beginning at 7 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Food will be available for purchase from food trucks and a concession stand. No alcohol will be sold at the event.
Free parking at Barney Schwartz Park is limited. Attendees are encouraged to carpool. Additional free parking will be available directly across the street from the east end of the park near Paso Robles Sports Club, as well as in a new lot at Union Road and Union Road, just east of Fire Station 3. RVs, fifth-wheel and bumper pull trailers may park for free on a first-come, first-served basis in the upper lot across from the park.
An RV parking area will open at noon. A pedestrian drop-off zone will be located in front of the park’s flagpole.
Ice chests and popups are allowed. Dogs and other pets are not permitted. Visitors are encouraged to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and bring chairs and jackets for the concerts and cooler evening temperatures.
Traffic control measures and road closures will be in place for safety. Union Road at Highway 46 East will be closed to all traffic at 7 p.m. No left turns will be allowed from Highway 46 westbound traffic onto Union Road, and no right turns will be allowed from eastbound traffic. The closure will remain until event traffic has cleared.
Paso Robles Boulevard will be closed for the duration of the event. No parking will be permitted on Union Road from the Golden Hill Roundabout through the easternmost city limits starting at 7 a.m. on July 3 until 11 p.m. on July 4 to maintain a fire lane.
Attendees are asked to follow directions from electronic signs, parking attendants, and the Paso Robles Police Department when exiting the event. All parking is at the visitor’s own risk. Violations may result in a citation or towing.
Only fireworks authorized for public display are allowed. Possession or use of other fireworks, including Safe and Sane, may result in citation and emergency response billing. Alcoholic beverages and unauthorized vendors are not permitted in the park.
Those watching the fireworks from outside the park must have permission to be on private property.
