City to conduct comprehensive streetlight audit starting next Wednesday

    – The City of Paso Robles is set to start a comprehensive streetlight audit across the city starting next Wednesday, Sept. 4. This initiative, conducted by Tanko Lighting, is a key component of the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety, improve energy efficiency, and prepare for the potential purchase of the city’s streetlight system from Pacific Gas & Electric.

Over the next month, residents will notice Tanko Lighting auditors surveying and photographing streetlights throughout Paso Robles. These auditors will be easily identifiable, wearing high-visibility safety vests, carrying identification, and driving marked vehicles. This audit will help the City of Paso Robles develop a detailed Streetlighting Master Plan and evaluate the feasibility of acquiring the streetlight system from PG&E, a move that could lead to improved service, cost savings, and better energy efficiency.

“We are committed to ensuring that our streetlight infrastructure meets the needs of our community both now and in the future,” said Capital Projects Engineer Ditas Esperanza, “This audit is an important step toward that goal.”

If residents have any questions or concerns during the audit process, they are encouraged to contact Esperanza at (805) 237-3861.
