Classic Hitchcock film returns to Bay Theatre for fundraiser
Proceeds from ticket sales will support independent programming and operations
– The Rock Community Radio will host a fundraising screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 film The Birds on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Bay Theatre, 464 Morro Bay Blvd.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit station’s operations and programming.
“We are incredibly excited to bring The Birds back to the big screen for our community,” said Hal Abrams, founder of The Rock. “Alfred Hitchcock’s legendary film is a perfect blend of entertainment and suspense, and it’s a fantastic way to gather support for The Rock Community Radio. Every ticket purchased directly helps us continue to provide diverse and independent programming to our listeners.”
The station, which has served the community for 12 years, operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and relies on listener and community support. It offers a platform for local artists, underrepresented voices, and community information, as well as public safety programming and emergency alert announcements in Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, Morro Bay, Los Osos, and Cayucos.
The event will include a Halloween costume contest, a raffle, and wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets are available at my805tix.com and TheRockCommunityRadio.org.
