‘College for Kids’ kicks off June 15

Cuesta

Approximately 160 local youth are registered to take part in Cuesta College’s 28th annual College for Kids summer program and spots are still available for more kids to sign up. The six-week program begins June 15 on the San Luis Obispo Campus and provides an enriching opportunity during the summer months for students entering 5th through 9th grades in the fall of 2015.

This year the program brings back a revamped hoop camp for youngsters interested in basketball, an expanded fourth grade camp, reading programs for readers of all ages and levels, and, returning for its second year, a summer jazz workshop for students in junior high and older.

Classes are being offered in many other areas, including cooking and nutrition, performing arts, science, business and finance, photography, and more. The courses are designed to meet the needs of younger students who are eager to explore subjects in a fun and educational environment.

There are two sessions available for students to take part; session one runs June 15 to July 1, and session two from July 6 to July 22. For information on the program, registration, fees, and parent-student orientation dates, click here, or call the Community Programs Department at (805) 546-3132.
