Construction begins at Larry Moore Park in Paso Robles

–Work is scheduled to begin this week to install a new playground and renovate the existing restroom at Larry Moore Park in Paso Robles.

Larry Moore Park, located along the Salinas River Trail, was originally built in the 1990’s as part of the Riverbank housing development and included in the resident assessment-funded Landscape and Lighting District. In July 2016, after meeting with neighborhood residents, the park became part of the city parks system, with operations, maintenance and youth recreation programming being provided by the City of Paso Robles.

A state-of-the-art playground will replace the existing play equipment and the restroom building will receive a much-needed facelift including new paint, roof and security gate; a new ADA compliant fixtures and stalls. Newton Construction & Management, Inc., based in San Luis Obispo, is handling construction, which is estimated to be complete in May.

“The city is pleased to begin the first in a series of planned improvements at Larry Moore Park, restoring the park as an attractive and popular recreation space for Paso Robles families,” said Julie Dahlen, Director of the Community Services Department.

For any questions regarding the work at Larry Moore Park, please call Freda Berman, Maintenance Superintendent, (805) 237-3873.
