Correctional Sergeant Casey Vert named ‘Custody Division Employee of the Year’
Correctional Sergeant Vert saves office over $380,000 with new transport plan
– The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office recognized Correctional Sergeant Casey Vert as the 2024 Custody Division Employee of the Year.
The award was announced as part of the office’s observance of National Correctional Officers and Employees Week. Vert received the recognition for his work while assigned to Court Services.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Vert identified a costly operational gap and developed a new transportation plan. The new plan is estimated to save the office more than $380,000 each year. Vert implemented the plan while continuing to manage his regular duties.
“His forward thinking and willingness to go above and beyond exemplifies the best of what we strive for in our agency,” the office stated in its announcement.
The Sheriff’s Office also acknowledged the efforts of all custody staff and extended appreciation at the close of National Correctional Officers and Employees Week.
