Early bird registration ends March 15

Sign ups for the 6th Annual Tour of Paso Founder’s Team Challenge, with early bird registration fees extended through March 15.

As the countdown begins for the 6th Annual Tour of Paso Founder’s Team Challenge, sign-ups are still underway, with early bird registration fees extended through March 15. This annual bike ride and wine fest takes place on March 22 and directly benefits The Cancer Support Community – California Central Coast.

“There’s still time to sign up for the Tour of Paso and also take advantage of early bird discounts,” said CSCCCC Executive Director Christie Kelly.

All skill levels, from beginners to advanced, are offered their choice of three routes – 50, 26 and 4-miles – through the Paso Robles wine country region, all starting and ending at Niner Estates off Highway 46 West. Riders raising more than $500 are eligible for prizes donated by local businesses; an awards ceremony and barbeque lunch will take place at the finish line party.

“We have great prizes, food, wine, and the route takes riders along scenic country roads,” said Kelly.

Several local businesses and organizations have formed teams for the Founder’s Team Challenge including Castoro Cellars, Justin Winery, Niner Estate Winery, Peachy Canyon, Rainbow Ranch, Best Bike Zone, Il Cortile, IQMS and the Slabtown Rollers. Teams and individuals will help raise funds that will provide free cancer support for patients, caregivers and loved ones throughout San Luis Obispo County.

“The teams really get into the ride,” said Kelly, “and they have a lot of fun – it’s a bit of healthy competition. Form a team, set your goals and help raise funds, raise awareness and provide support for patients, caregivers and their loved ones.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available – various levels will receive merchandise such as bike jerseys and wine, as well as name recognition, logo placement and more.
