Airport sees 13% passenger increase
– San Luis Obispo County Airport reported its highest-ever annual passenger count, with 746,764 travelers passing through the airport in 2024. The total marks a 13% increase from the previous year’s 660,745 passengers.
The growth underscores the airport’s role as a key transportation hub for the Central Coast, providing air travel options for residents and visitors. The increase is attributed to partnerships with airlines, expanded flight options, larger aircraft, and community support for local air service.
“Achieving this milestone is a reflection of the incredible teamwork and dedication of everyone who makes San Luis Obispo County Airport thrive,” said Courtney Johnson, director of airports.
“Whether it’s the airport team who go above and beyond every day, our airline partners, or the guests who trust us with their journeys, this growth wouldn’t be possible without each of you. Thank you for being part of our mission to provide an exceptional air travel experience and for your unwavering support of local air service.”
The airport has invested in facility and service improvements to accommodate its growing passenger base. Moving forward, it plans to focus on sustainability, innovation, and maintaining strong relationships with the community and stakeholders.
