County named 6th best place for women to launch a business
–In honor of Women’s Small Business Month, Nerd Wallet recently published a study that determined the best metro areas for women to launch a business in the nation. The San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles-Arroyo Grande metro area ranked sixth.
The Paso Robles metro area ranks second for most SBA loans per 100,000 residents. The metro area ranks among the top 20 for the most women-owned businesses per 100 residents.
Four of the top 10 metro areas are in California. The four cities, SLO Metro Area, Santa Cruz-Watsonville, Santa Rosa, and San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward, have more women-owned businesses per 100 residents and higher annual incomes for women compared with the national average.
