County residents invited to help plan for disasters

The county will be updating the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and are requesting help from the public.

–All residents of San Luis Obispo County are invited to help plan for local disasters. The county will be updating the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and are requesting help from the public.

The meeting will be held April 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ludwick Center, 864 Santa Rosa Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.

For the first time, the plan will include all cities and jurisdictions throughout San Luis Obispo County and your input and participation are crucial to this process.

The General Plan Safety Element – a supplement to the Hazard Mitigation Plan is also being updated. The Safety Element is focused on goals and policies aimed to reduce the risks associated with these hazards such as property damage, and economic and social dislocation.

Information will be provided, and questions will be answered at the public forum on Thursday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m.
