–Los Angeles-based artist Nikhil Murthy will display a series of videos in the Cuesta College Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery from June 20-July 28 in an exhibit titled “Invisible Abundance.”

Murthy’s work uses elements and ideas from politics, television, hip-hop, science and economics to discuss the possibilities of time, space, empathy, dignity and antagonism. An opening reception is scheduled for July 8 from 4 – 7 p.m., with an artist talk at 5:30 p.m.

“Four videos will play sequentially, one at a time, for a total of 22 minutes” said Murthy. “The videos all have to do with the fear of and the economics of surplus, the monetary possibilities of a fiat currency, baroque fancy still life, soul and rap music, antagonism and a fight against the work ethic.”

Murthy’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States, including at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, The Contemporary Austin in Texas, and more. For more information on Murthy, visit www.nikhilmurthy.com.
