Cuesta College announces nursing education fair, information session

Cuesta College hosting a nursing information session on Thursday, March 12, followed by their 2nd Annual Nursing Education Fair, slated for Friday, March 13. 

LVN-to-RN Program Information Session

March 12, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
SLO Campus, Room 2509

The nursing information session this month is designed for anyone interested in the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to Associate Degree Registered Nurse (RN) Program. The session provides a basic overview of the pre-requisite coursework, admission criteria, program requirements, and the application processes. Nursing information sessions are offered annually each fall and spring semester. Attendance at this session or a previous meeting held on 4/17/13, 9/19/13, 3/13/14, or 10/16/14 is mandatory in order to receive an application for this program. Advanced placement LVN to RN pathway allows LVN’s with one year of work experience to enter the associate degree RN program in the 2nd semester. PowerPoint notes and handouts will be available a week prior to the meeting on the Nursing and Allied Health website at http://academic.cuesta.edu/nursing/.

Nursing Education Fair

March 13, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
SLO Campus, Room 2502

The Cuesta College 2nd Annual Nursing Education Fair is specifically geared toward registered nurses seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or a PhD. The event is for current students, alumni, and nurses employed in San Luis Obispo County, North Santa Barbara County and South Monterey County. The fair will feature representatives from various colleges offering BSNs, MSNs, DNPs and PhD degrees. Attendees will learn about eligibility and enrollment processes and transfer credits. Many in-state and out-of-state schools are registered to attend, including Arizona State University, University of Texas Arlington, Chamberlain College of Nursing and Cal State Channel Islands. Online and accelerated programs will also be represented.

Registration is not necessary. Free parking will be available in lot 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. For questions, call (805) 546-3100, ext. 2579.
