– Cuesta College began its spring semester on Jan. 21, with classes running through May 23. Students can still register for courses, and late registration is available with instructor approval through Feb. 2. The college offers a variety of short-term courses, ranging from three to 17 weeks, to provide scheduling flexibility. Credit courses cost $46 per unit, while noncredit courses are free.
Dr. Jill Stearns, superintendent and president of Cuesta College, expressed enthusiasm for the new semester.
“The energy and enthusiasm our students, faculty, and staff bring to our campuses each semester inspire me,” Stearns said. “This spring, we are thrilled to offer expanded opportunities and pathways for student success. I am proud of the dedication and passion that defines Cuesta College, and I look forward to celebrating the many successes this semester will bring.”
This spring, Cuesta College is launching a new commercial driver’s license program at the North County campus in Paso Robles. The program, starting in March, is designed to address the need for skilled commercial drivers by providing job readiness training. For more information, contact the Continuing Education Department at (805) 591-6273.
The college’s agriculture program continues to expand, offering new courses in animal science and blacksmithing. Students can also study plant and soil science, ranch management, and related fields. Agriculture courses are held at the San Luis Obispo and North County campuses.
Cuesta College Corps, now in its fourth year, encourages students to engage in community service while preparing for their careers. The statewide paid service program offers fellows up to $10,000 for completing community service projects in education, food insecurity, and climate action. Applications for the 2025-26 cohort open in February.
Students can access support services through Cuesta Connect, a platform offering in-person and virtual appointments for academic counseling, financial aid, tutoring, and other resources. These services are available across multiple student support programs, including academic counseling, admissions, tutoring, the affinity center, the food pantry, student health services, and more.
Courses are offered at Cuesta College’s three locations in San Luis Obispo County: the main campus in San Luis Obispo, the North County campus in Paso Robles, and the South County Center at Arroyo Grande High School. Online classes are also available. Local high school students can participate in the College and Career Access Pathways Program.
