Cuesta College honors 9/11 victims with observances at both campuses today

Event will commemorate the nearly 3,000 lives lost, as well as the courage of first responders and the resilience of the American people
– Cuesta College will host a Patriot Day observance on Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. at both its San Luis Obispo and North County campuses to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The event will commemorate the nearly 3,000 lives lost, as well as the courage of first responders and the resilience of the American people.
The ceremony will feature participation from the Cuesta College Police Department, Paramedic and EMT students, Cal Fire/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, the Army National Guard based at Camp San Luis Obispo, and the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.
Attendees will gather around the flagpole areas on both campuses to reflect on the events of 9/11 and pay tribute to the victims and the individuals who continue to serve and protect the nation.
The San Luis Obispo campus observance will be held at the flagpole area, as will the event at the North County campus.
