Cuesta College to host community provider fair for veterans
Event will provide information on local resources and services available to veterans
–Local veterans are invited to come onto Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus on April 19 to attend a community provider fair. Representatives from various local agencies will be on hand in building 5400, room 5401, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to provide information on local resources and services available to veterans, including:
– America’s Job Center of California
– National Guard Family Program
– San Luis Obispo Veterans Services
– Central Coast Veterans Helping Veterans organization
– Disabled American Veterans organization
“This event is open to all veterans in the community and the goal is for our local veterans to come and learn about the many great resources available to them,” said Cuesta College’s Veterans Affairs Certifying Official Karen Andrews.

For the past two years, Cuesta College has been designated a Military Friendly School by Victory Media. The Military Friendly Schools designation is awarded to the top colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students, and to dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.
Cuesta College currently serves more than 200 veterans annually and has a dedicated Veterans Resource Center on the San Luis Obispo Campus, where veterans, reservists and military dependents as well as prospective students with military experience can learn about available benefits, connect with one another, and become active in other aspects of campus life.
