Cuesta Scholarship named in memory of local education advocate

Cuesta college news–The Cuesta College Chapter of the Latino Leadership Network (LLN) announced the renaming of its scholarship in memory of a local education advocate, Andrea Blanco, at her Celebration of Life at Pacheco Elementary School on Saturday, July 20. The beloved Laguna Middle School teacher’s advocacy will live on in the newly named “LLN Andrea Blanco Scholarship,” which supports AB-540 students attending Cuesta College.

“We want to acknowledge all the amazing work that Andrea did for the Latinx youth in our community,” said Alicia Paniagua, President of the LLN Cuesta College Chapter. “Our Chapter has agreed that Andrea’s legacy must be carried on through continued care and support of those she so lovingly dedicated her life. This scholarship will be such a special way of honoring her legacy.”

For those in the community who want to donate toward the scholarship, please contact the Cuesta College Foundation at (805) 546-3279, or send a check to the Cuesta College Foundation, P.O. Box 8106, San Luis Obispo, CA 93403, Attn: LLN Blanco Fund.
