–Jordan Cunningham announced receiving the endorsement of San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson.

When asked about the endorsement, Sheriff Parkinson said, “Jordan has time and time again stood up for public safety and made it evident that he values the men and women who protect our streets. He has my wholehearted support.”

Assemblyman Cunningham has extensive experience in public safety. He worked as an attorney and law clerk for two federal judges in the Washington, D.C. area. He worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice before returning to his home on the Central Coast and becoming a deputy district attorney in San Luis Obispo County. As a prosecutor, he handled cases involving fraud, assault, and domestic violence, among others.

While in the Assembly, Cunningham has introduced and passed several pieces legislation to crack down on human and sex trafficking. Calling the fight against human trafficking the “moral issue of our time,” he has been recognized as a policy leader in that area, according to KYET.

Assemblyman Cunningham represents all of San Luis Obispo County and a portion of Santa Barbara County, including the cities of Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Paso Robles, Grover Beach, Lompoc, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Templeton, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and surrounding communities.
