–The Board of Trustees of the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District announced today the selection of Dr. Curt Dubost to lead the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District. “We’re very happy to have an experienced school administrator to lead our district,” says Joel Peterson, Board President of the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees. “During the search process, the board looked for a candidate who possessed the leadership skills and experience for guiding a district such as ours,” Peterson said.

“I am very proud of the confidence they have in me,” said Dubost of the board’s decision to offer him a three-year contract. “My commitment to students has shown in all the districts where I have worked, and I plan to continue my commitment to students in Paso Robles as well,” says Dubost.

Dubost should be a familiar name as he comes from a family of educators with longtime family roots in North San Luis Obispo County dating back to the 1880’s. Dubost was superintendent of the Templeton Unified School District from 1992 – 2002 and the Taft Unified School District superintendent from 2002 – 2007. Dubost came out of retirement to lead the San Miguel Joint Union School District in 2010 until present day.

Dubost’s wife Kate, is a retired educator from the Atascadero and Paso Robles school districts, and his son, Ted, is a member of the Templeton Unified School District Board of Trustees. Dubost was selected as the finalist among over 30 candidates who applied for the position in a search performed by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. Dubost will officially start his new duties on July 1.

Dubost holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in English and a Master of Arts degree in English Education from Stanford University, as well as a Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California. The contract will be approved by the Paso Robles Board of Trustees at their regularly scheduled meeting on May 14. Dr. Dubost will be introduced to the staff by Board President Joel Peterson at the Employees of the Year Celebration on May 7.

Paso Robles Joint Unified School District serves over 6200 students in the Paso Robles, San Miguel, and Pleasant Valley areas.
