Dan Del Campo dies at 69
-San Luis Obispo County Planning Commissioner Dan Del Campo died Friday in his home in Oak Shores at the age of 69.
The former host of KPRL’s Sound Off was appointed to the planning commission by Supervisor John Peschong in January.
The County Planning Commission was not Del Campo’s first experience in public service. Before relocating to Oak Shores, Dan Del Campo served as Mayor of Thousand Oaks. He also served on the City Council. At one point, Dan was Mayor while his wife, Mary Jo served on the Thousand Oaks School Board. More recently, Mary Jo has served on the San Miguel School Board. The couple were married for 46 years.
Services are pending. A celebration of life is planned for Oak Shores, but the date has not yet been set.
If you would like to make a donation, Dan would appreciate your choosing USC Norris Cancer Hospital.
