David Cooper is October’s artist in the Paso Robles Library

–David Cooper’s fine art black and white architectural photographs will be on display in the Paso Robles City Library the month of October. Chronicling the restoration and replication of historical buildings and structures at the Piedras Blancas Light Station, the photographs recognize and celebrate efforts to return the site to its appearance during the first decade of the 20th century, its period of most historical significance.

Cooper is a published photo essayist who traces his inspiration to the great social documentary photographers of the 1930s whose work fused fact and feeling. Currently a Professor Emeritus of American Studies at Michigan State University, Cooper also serves on the Board of Directors for the Piedras Blancas Light Station Association.

The Paso Robles City Library is located at 1000 Spring Street and is open Mon–Fri from 10 a.m.– 8 p.m., and Sat from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. For more information on library programs and events, call (805) 237-3870 or visit the library website.
