Decemil Estate Wines opens new tasting lounge in downtown Paso Robles
Guests can enjoy 50 percent off tastings through Oct. 31
– Decemil Estate Wines has opened the Decemil Wine Lounge, a tasting space in the Historic 1888 Grangers Union building at 13th and Pine streets in downtown Paso Robles.
The lounge features table seating for tasting and bottle service, a small tasting bar, a bench lounge area, and a wall-mounted fireplace. The design incorporates art deco elements and was developed with Studio 2G Architects of San Luis Obispo.
“We designed the tasting room to be cozy and inviting, a modern take on a 1920s speakeasy and a place to discover a new favorite wine or just socialize over a glass or flight before lunch or dinner,” said co-founder and owner Toni Ulrich.
To mark the opening and Harvest Wine Month, tastings are 50 percent off through Oct. 31. Club memberships include complimentary tastings and discounts. A “Monthly Club” aimed at San Luis Obispo County residents will offer wines by the glass or bottle at preferred pricing.
Reservations are recommended; walk-ins are accepted as space allows. Hours are Thursday, Sunday, and Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Reservations are available at DecemilWines.com or by calling (805) 226-2828.
Decemil’s inaugural 2022 wines were released last November and received scores of 94 points from Wine Enthusiast and Vinous for the 2022 Syrah and the 2022 Syzygy GSM blend. The lounge is pouring those wines along with several new 2023 releases. The winery produces Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, a Rosé, and GSM blends.
The name Decemil refers to 10,000 vines planted on five acres. The vineyard in the Willow Creek District is farmed with organic and regenerative practices.
“The best wines taste like the place they are from,” said co-founder and winemaker Jerry Ulrich. “Each vintage should reflect both land of origin and the annual growing conditions that contribute to its character—this is what we strive for in each Decemil wine.”
Decemil Estate Wines was established in 2014 by Jerry and Toni Ulrich. The five-acre estate in the coastal mountains reaches elevations up to 1,300 feet and is planted exclusively to grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre. For details and reservations, visit DecemilWines.com or email info@decemilwines.com.
