‘Destination Wedding’ a fun watch for locals
–Last year the Central Coast was delighted to find out that well-known Hollywood actors Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves were filming at several locations in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. Destination Wedding was released in limited theatres across the US, including a few coveted showings in San Luis Obispo County.
The R-Rated film is a dramedy romance which stars the story of two misanthrope and spiteful wedding guests, Frank and Lindsay, who realize a common fondness for each other, regardless of their quirks.
Frank and Lindsay were, surprisingly, the only two speaking roles in the movie. The movie was uniquely realistic, featuring an awkward vineyard hookup and rambling late-night bed conversations between the two protagonists, making viewers feel like they were watching genuine intimate moments and the budding of a real-life relationship, rather than the usual Hollywood glitz, glamor, and romantic cliches.
Dubost Winery creates in the idyllic wedding location and was undisclosed during the filming. Characters Frank and Lindsay stayed at the Apple Farm in San Luis Obispo. Other notable filming locations included outside of the Fremont Theatre, and at and around the San Luis Obispo Airport.

Destination Wedding was a fun movie to watch for locals who will recognize many familiar sites, was shot beautifully and served as a very nice showcase for the Central Coast.
