–Candidate for county supervisor, John Peschong, this week received the endorsement of San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow.

Dow is a US Army veteran and active member of the Army National Guard. As a Major, Command Judge Advocate, Dow served overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Previous to his election as District Attorney in 2014, he worked as a Deputy District Attorney– prosecuting domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse crimes.

When asked about his support, Dow said, “I’m confident that John is the best choice for supervisor because like me, he believes public safety should always be our elected leaders’ top priority. As our departments work to combat local threats such as gang activity in the region, John’s knowledge of the community and commitment to keeping families safe will surely serve as an instrumental piece of this fight.”

“As a husband, father and small business owner, our safety is never something that I’m willing to compromise,” said Peschong. “I’m honored to have Dan’s support and look forward to working with him, the members in his office, and all local law enforcement to ensure our community remains a safe place to live, work and raise a family.”

Peschong joins several other candidates in a race to replace current Supervisor Frank Mecham, who announced earlier this year that he would be retiring.

Peschong is a Republican strategist and partner at Meridian Pacific, a political consulting firm. He has previously contributed conservative political columns to The Tribune. He lives in Templeton with his wife, Anna, and their two children.

First District Supervisor includes the City of Paso Robles as well as the communities of San Miguel, Templeton, Heritage Ranch, Shandon, Oak Shores, and Adelaida.
