Dolly Parton entertains crowd with hits and wit
–Dolly Parton took to the stage at Vina Robles on Wednesday, Sept. 28. On this tour Dolly has not brought the big band with her, instead she decided to scale back the band, which she called her garage band, to a four piece band. “No bells or whistles,” said Parton, “except for my big hair, make up, and rhinestones,” she said with a giggle. Parton glowed like an angel under the lights for the entire evening.
As good as she looked, she sounded even better. The show started off with some of her known hit songs such as “Apple Jack” and “Jolene.” However, she didn’t rush to play song after song in a row. She took her time to introduce each and every song with a wonderful story about how the song came into creation. Connecting with the crowd is what Parton does best. She conducts her show on a very personal level by reaching out to the crowd with love and affection.
Her songs are not just melody and rhythm, but rather the story of her life. Parton seems to truly love each and every person at her concert, and everyone was more than happy to share their love right back to her. Parton is a true country music legend and continues to mesmerize the world with her talent.
