–Doris Virginia Guthrie, 82, was born in Jacksonville, Fla. and passed away peacefully on Mar. 9, 2018, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 62 years, Robert Guthrie of Atascadero; her sister Leranell Griffin of Jacksonville, Fla.; her six daughters: Geri Mackey, Paula Soued, Renee East, Brenda Jenkins, Dawn Blankinship, and Cheryl Berry; as well as 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She and her family have lived in Atascadero for over 50 years. In her earlier years, Doris was a busy homemaker, active church member, and pianist at Atascadero Christian Church and a local business owner. She loved children, southern gospel music and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church in Atascadero.
