Eagles face Bakersfield in CIF Division 4 semifinal Friday
– The Templeton Eagles football team practiced under temporary flood lights this week in preparation for Friday’s semifinal game in the CIF Division 4 Championship.
The Eagles host North (Bakersfield) Friday night on the Templeton High School campus.
The Eagles are 11-0 for the season. Last Friday, they beat Coalinga 40-14. The Eagles won their first game of the season against Edison by forfeit. The Eagles actually lost that game in Double Overtime (28-20), but Edison used an ineligible player, so Templeton was awarded the victory.
The North Stars are 7-4 for the season; however, they had to forfeit two games for using an ineligible player. Otherwise, their record would be 9-2.
The North Stars rely primarily on a strong running game. The Eagles are balanced with a formidable running game and excellent passing offense.
The winner of Friday’s game will advance to the CIF Championship.
The game will be aired on Friday night on ESPN 101.7 FM and 1280 AM.
Kickoff is 7 p.m. Friday night at Templeton High School.
