ECHO Shelter adds two new business owners to its board

Randy Harding is the owner of Sky River RV.

New directors have supported food insecurity and homeless services efforts

    – El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) recently announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors: Brian Terrizzi, owner of Giornata Winery and ETTO Pasta Bar, and Randy Harding, owner of Sky River RV.

The organization announced the appointments on May 15.

According to ECHO, its board of directors includes 14 leaders from across San Luis Obispo County who help guide the organization’s mission and long-term planning.

ECHO said Harding has volunteered with the organization for years alongside his family by preparing and serving meals for residents. The organization said Harding and Sky River RV have also supported fundraisers and initiatives over the years.

Terrizzi first became involved with ECHO through food insecurity efforts, according to the organization. Through ETTO Pasta Bar, he donated pasta to support the meal program and later became involved in additional fundraising and community efforts. ECHO said Terrizzi also works with the San Luis Obispo County food bank.

Brian Terrizzi is the owner of Giornata Winery and ETTO Pasta Bar.

“Etto has proudly supported ECHO through pasta donations for years – fighting food insecurity is one of our company’s missions,” Terrizzi said. “As I learned more about ECHO I was struck by how successful the organization is compared to similar organizations around the state and nationally. This speaks to the hard work of their great team and the wonderful support from our community and the countless volunteers who help make ECHO so successful. It was very flattering to be asked to join the board and I look forward to contributing in as many ways as possible. I truly believe that ECHO is a special organization that can serve as a model to address the very serious problem of housing insecurity that affects countless families.”

“Serving at ECHO has been a meaningful way for our family to give back to the community,” Harding said. “Providing meals is something we can all do together, each of us plays an active role in planning, preparing and serving the meal together. We are so thankful for ECHO and the strong organization it is. I’m truly grateful that we can be a part of it.”

The executive committee for ECHO’s board of directors includes Nick Edney as board chair, Kara Woodruff as vice chair, Eric Yun as treasurer, and Kyle Flaherty as secretary.

Additional board members include Angela Lynch, Austin Petty, Cindy Wittstrom, Jessica McGinnis, Joeli Yaguda, Joseph Ferrell, Kandy Noel, and Linda Steward.

ECHO said its mission is to provide food, shelter, and supportive services for people in San Luis Obispo County experiencing homelessness. The organization operates facilities in Atascadero and Paso Robles with a combined capacity of 130 beds, including a 60-bed shelter in Atascadero and a 70-bed shelter in Paso Robles. The organization also operates a daily community dinner program and shower program.
