Edward Grant Bermingham ‘Butch’ dies at 73 

—Edward Grant Bermingham (Butch) 73, of Atascadero passed away Mar. 31, 2018 at Community Hospital Of Monterey Peninsula in Monterey California.

He was born in Paso Robles, the only son to Edward George and Isabelle (Anderson) Bermingham.

Butch grew up and attended school in Shandon; making lifelong friends along the way; including his loving wife of 56 years Patricia (Davis).

He worked over 30 years in the oil business until his retirement.

Butch has filled his life with many activities and community services. He was on school boards, coached Little Leagues and played on several Adult League teams himself. Being part of a Pioneer family himself, he proudly served on the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Committee, a tradition near and dear to his heart. He served as a Co-Chair and the Chairmen of the board from 2000 – 2004 and was an active member until he passed.

Butch loved traveling with his family, Sierra camping trips with his friends, and camping at Bass Lake and Lake Tahoe with his family. And in his younger years, he enjoyed jeep runs and racing at Atascadero and Santa Maria speedways. He was an avid sports fan his entire life.

He leaves his beloved wife Trish, his son Shawn and his wife Candace; their children Jody and Brandy of Paso Robles. His son Joe and his wife Colette and their daughter Isabella also Paso Robles. His daughter Jill Brooks and her husband Yates; along with their children Taylor, Dalton, and Logan of Los Banos. His daughter Sheri Kennedy and her husband Dusty from Little Elm, Texas. He also leaves behind his sisters ~June Harrington and Kathy Barrow and her husband JR. He is also survived by his in-laws Wanda Smith, Linda Davis, Rosella Davis, Bette Davis, Donald Davis and wife Ellen, Ruby Brandon and her husband Leroy. Also numerous nieces and nephews and cousins whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his very close life-long friends John Craspay, Bill Jewel and Cousins Frank Freeman and Mike Bermingham.

A Celebration of Life will be held Apr. 21, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Shandon Park qith Pastor Ted Hunt presiding. This service will be done with a barbecue and potluck style while sharing stories and memories per were his wishes. There will also be a place in the guest book and we encourage people to write their stories down or anything they would like to say or share with the family.
