Emergency services conducting ‘Wildland Urban Interface’ training drill

–The Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services will be conducting a Wildland Urban Interface training drill on May 28, 30 and June 1. Fire equipment and personnel will be present on Union Road, Walnut and Renate Way in Paso Robles between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The training will simulate a wildland fire response and the initial actions taken by first responders.

Additional exercise components include the activation of the Reverse 911 system. Residents located in the areas noted above can expect to receive the following message, “This is a test, and only a test, please shelter in place as fire department apparatus are responding to an incident on Renate Drive.”

The Reverse 911 system allows emergency officials the ability to notify residents and businesses in a designated area of an emergency and actions they may need to take. We encourage all residents of Paso Robles to sign up for this free service at https://slosheriff.onthealert.com.
