Emergency services department demonstrates capabilities, challenges

City dignitaries in attendance

–On Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services hosted an event called Emergency Operations 101. The purpose of the event was to demonstrate the current capabilities of the department as well as challenges the department currently faces.

In attendance were Mayor Martin, Councilman Hamon, Councilman Gregory, and City Manager Tom Frutchey. The council members had the opportunity to put on firefighter turnout gear and advance a hose line into a simulated smoke-filled structure. Afterward, the council members witnessed a demonstration of the department’s paramedic medical services, and all participated in performing CPR.

The Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services would like to thank Cal Fire / San Luis Obispo County Fire, Templeton Fire, and San Luis Ambulance Service for assisting in the event. The department is scheduling an upcoming meeting with Councilmembers Reed and Strong, who were not able to attend on Saturday.
