31-year-old Benjamin Aaron Karp located at Pismo State Beach North Campground
–On Sunday afternoon, the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office was notified that State Park Rangers at the Pismo State Beach North Beach Campground in Pismo Beach had safely located escaped at-risk mental health patient, 31-year-old Benjamin Aaron Karp.
Karp had escaped the San Luis Obispo County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) in the city of San Luis Obispo Saturday morning wearing only blue scrubs and no shoes. A BOL (Be On the Lookout) warning was issued to all law enforcement agencies in the county.
Karp was taken into custody without incident and will be transported to San Luis Obispo County Jail.
