Estrella Warbirds hosts aviation club for local high school students

The Estrella Warbirds Museum is located at 4251 Dry Creek Road in Paso Robles.

–The Estrella Warbirds Museum has sponsored an aviation club for Paso Robles and Templeton High Schools. Student members meet monthly at the museum and listen to guest speakers and they also do volunteer work. Recently, several students have become plane captains, where they essentially are in charge of specific aircraft that we have on display. Brad Eaton, a well known local pilot, is the head of the aviation club’s activities.

The aviation club’s next monthly meeting will be on Sat Mar 30 from 10 a.m. to 12. After lunch, the kids will do community service work. The guest speaker that day will be Gary Britton, a retired Paso Robles Air Officer and owner of Hovershot Imaging LLC (which employs high tech drones in his videography operation using onboard cameras controlled by the head movements of the drone pilot on the ground). His commercial operation services real estate, roofing, architectural, commercial mapping, weddings, and special events. He will give a video presentation followed by a ” hands-on” demonstration using the kids as pilots and cameramen. Parents and family are invited.
