Mike Chamberlin.
Reservations are required, should be made by Monday, Sept. 2
– The Estrella Warbirds Museum will bring back Mike Chamberlin to perform at its monthly dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The event will commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the eventual end of World War II.
Chamberlin, who has performed his show “Love Songs of WWII” over 2,500 times, including 326 concerts last year, will entertain guests with music that resonated with soldiers during the war. He recently performed at the Richard Nixon Library and a soldier reunion aboard the Queen Mary, where he played for veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
Some of the most iconic songs of the 1940s, such as “You’ll Never Know” and “White Cliffs of Dover,” will be featured in the performance. Chamberlin, a Vietnam veteran, often concludes his shows with patriotic sing-a-longs.
The Estrella Warbirds Museum hosts a dinner and guest speaker on the first Wednesday of every month. The catered dinner costs $25 per person. Reservations are required and should be made by Monday, Sept. 2. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ewarbirds.org/museum/reservations.shtml or by calling (805) 296-1935. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a no-host bar, and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
