Estrella Warbirds Museum to host May dinner with racing speaker
Dinner event features sprint car racing perspective from Templeton driver
– Estrella Warbirds Museum and Woodland Auto Display will host its monthly dinner on May 6, featuring sprint car driver Kaleb Montgomery as the guest speaker.
The event will take place at the museum, where Montgomery will speak about sprint car racing, including the experience of driving a 1,400-pound car powered by a 900-horsepower engine and competing alongside 8 to 24 drivers on a dirt track.
Montgomery, who was born and raised in Templeton, graduated from Templeton High School and continued his education at Cuesta College. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology through Chico State’s online program while building his racing career.
According to the release, what began as a small, family-run team in Templeton has developed into a sprint car operation that competes nationally. Montgomery now travels across the country to compete and shares his experiences in the sport through social media.
The monthly dinners are catered, and reservations are required by 6 p.m. the Monday before the event. The cost is $30 per person. Reservations can be made at https://www.ewarbirds.org/museum/reservations.shtml or by calling (805) 296-1935.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
