Farm Bureau continues turkey donations honoring Hugh Pitts
Community members invited to donate funds or turkeys this season
– The San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau is continuing its annual Thanksgiving tradition of donating turkeys to the San Luis Obispo Food Bank in memory of longtime board member and community servant Hugh Pitts.
For many years, Pitts donated a pallet of turkeys to the food bank as part of his community service. Following his passing in 2018, the Farm Bureau has carried on the effort in his honor.
With support from donors and the Pismo Oceano Vegetable Exchange, the Farm Bureau contributes funds and turkey donations each year to help local families facing food insecurity. The San Luis Obispo Food Bank distributes the donations through its network of partner agencies across the county.
Donations can be made by credit card online at slofarmbureau.org, by phone at (805) 543-3654, in person with cash at the Farm Bureau office, or by mailing a check payable to San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau to 4875 Morabito Place, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
The Farm Bureau encourages community members to participate in the effort to support local families in need during the Thanksgiving season.
