Update: Fatality reported on Highway 46, vehicle and motorcycle collide

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in collision, police say
– The Paso Robles Police Department released additional information regarding the fatal collision that occurred Saturday evening in Paso Robles.
On Saturday, July 1, 2023, at about 5 p.m., the police department received a report of a traffic collision with possible injuries at Highway 46 and Golden Hill Rd. Officers arrived on the scene and located two involved vehicles, a white minivan, and a black motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle was found deceased at the scene.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision, according to the police department. The names of the involved parties are being withheld at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation, and the police department is requesting anyone with any information to call (805) 237-6464, or persons wishing to remain anonymous are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers’ 24-hour hotline at 805-549-STOP or by texting “SLOTIPS” plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).

– On Saturday at 5:06 p.m., Paso Robles Emergency Services responded to Highway 46 East, east of Golden Hill Road, for reports of a vehicle and motorcycle colliding in the westbound lanes.
When crews arrived on the scene they discovered a motorcycle downed. Witnesses on the scene attempted CPR to revive the motorcyclist but were unsuccessful.
As of 5:30 pm, Highway 46 East westbound is closed. Traffic for westbound lanes is being diverted to Union Road, eastbound traffic is open for traffic.
