Female assaulted in San Luis Obispo

Third assault reported in general area in past two months

–On Feb. 16 at approximately 9:15 p.m. a lone female was walking on the Cal Poly campus near the Health Center. As she approached the stairs leading from the coffee shop and the 1400 block of Foothill onto campus she felt someone grab her by the buttocks.

The female victim turned and saw a Hispanic male adult, about 5’6” tall with a stalky build. The suspect was wearing a heavy black jacket, pants, and a tan colored beanie.

The suspect immediately ran from the victim who did not sustain injuries as a result of the assault. The victim notified the San Luis Obispo Police Department of the assault immediately after it occurred. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect.

This is the third assault that has taken place in the same general area in the past two months. The Police Department is actively looking for leads in these cases. If you were in the 1300 block of Foothill last night and saw the suspect in this case running from the area, investigators want to talk with you. Your information can be kept confidential.
