Fig at Courtney’s House receives $10,000 grant 

Fig at Courtney’s House is a nonprofit restaurant providing job training and employment for adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities.

–Fig at Courtney’s House was awarded grant funds of $10,000 from The Community Foundation. Fig at Courtney’s House is a nonprofit restaurant providing job training and employment for adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities. The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County provides leadership and encourages charitable giving for the issues that improve and enhance lives in the county.

Fig at Courtney’s House is dedicated to providing adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a safe, supportive and individualized environment where they can grow holistically in areas of vocational, social and life skills and realize their full personal potential. This grant was awarded in support of two key elements within the program – job coaching and the services of a Certified Behavioral Specialist.

Job coaches are a cornerstone of the program, offering the individual support needed for each intern to be successful in reaching their goals. The services of a Certified Behavioral Specialist will elevate the program, allowing an even more individualized training and employment experience for those served by the program.
