Fight behind local bar leads to shots being fired, arrests

Atascadero residents Travis Miller and Nevada Jones were both arrested.

–On October 3, 2018 at approximately 1:40 am, officers from the Atascadero Police Department responded to a report of a fight behind Whiskey & June located at 5950 El Camino Real. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers learned of a physical fight between a suspect and victim. The suspect retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and pointed the firearm at the victim. The suspect fired a single round in the proximity of the victim. The shots fired missed the victim. A report was taken and an investigation was begun into the incident.

It was learned that the suspect has possible ties to the Vagos Motorcycle Gang. The Atascadero Police Department worked with the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department to confirm this information.

On October 3 at 11:51 am, officers located a black truck in which the suspect was a passenger on Olmeda and Rosario. The officers followed the truck and were able to pull them over on a high-risk stop at the Stow It Mini Storage. The officers arrested Travis William Miller, 38 years from Atascadero, and his associate Nevada Skye Jones, 23 years from Atascadero. The suspects have been arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. The investigation is ongoing in an effort to locate evidence and confirm Miller’s gang involvement.

The Atascadero Police Department will be seeking charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.
