Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services will conduct several small training burns at the Paso Robles Airport on June 9 as part of a fire investigation training exercise.

The training will take place in conjunction with the San Luis Obispo Fire Investigation Strike Team.

Members of the public may notice light smoke in the area during the exercise. Fire personnel will closely monitor the burns, which will be conducted under an approved permit and controlled conditions with fire control measures in place.

According to fire officials, the training will not affect airport operations, air traffic, or public access to airport facilities.

Officials said there is no threat to the surrounding community.

The training exercise is designed to provide hands-on experience for fire investigators and help personnel maintain preparedness for future incidents.
