Fire crews quickly contain riverbed blaze in Paso Robles
Cause remains under investigation
– Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a vegetation fire at 2:13 p.m. Friday at 3200 Sulfur Springs Road in the Salinas Riverbed area.
The first units arrived within three minutes and reported a quarter-acre of vegetation burning. Paso Robles Fire deployed three engines and one battalion chief to the scene.
Under the city’s automatic aid agreement, CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County sent four engines, a battalion chief, a deputy chief, a bulldozer and a water tender. Atascadero Fire responded with one engine, and Paso Robles Police assisted with scene coordination.
A total of 35 personnel contained the fire by 2:35 p.m. The cause remains under investigation.
