Fire damages Paso Robles mobile home

Firefighters determine that home was vacant

–On Jan. 7, at approximately 9:45 am, Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services was dispatched to a single-family residential structure fire. This was reported to be a recreational vehicle located in a mobile home park. Callers also reported hearing screams they believed to be coming from inside the burning trailer.

The first fire engine reached the scene in approximately 11 minutes. This initial fire crew discovered heavy smoke and fire emanating from a 10 x 50 mobile home. They quickly extended a fire hose into the home to begin searching for people. No victims were found during the initial search. Once they were able to bring the fire under control, a secondary search was completed to determine the home was vacant.

Firefighters from Paso Robles, Atascadero, and SLO County responded to the call. In total, 15 firefighters operating from 5 engines and two chief officers were required to extinguish the fire. Additional assistance was provided by Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance Service.

The fire’s cause was not readily apparent and is under investigation. The mobile home and contents sustained substantial damage. No monetary loss estimate is available.
