Fire department hosting blood drive
Drive will be held behind Fire Station 1 on 9th Street
– The Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services Department is hosting a blood drive with Vitalant on June 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 900 Park, behind Fire Station 1 on 9th Street. There are currently four sign-ups and 26 open slots. San Luis Obispo County urgently needs help to fill these slots and ensure a sufficient blood supply for the community.
Type O blood inventory is critically low countywide, making it crucial to receive donations from Type O donors. Type O blood is the most requested by hospitals and can be a life-saving resource for patients in emergencies.
Participants in this blood drive can make a significant impact, as each donation can save up to three lives. With the current shortage, every donation is vital.
To sign up, register for a donation slot online or call (877) 258-4825 to schedule by phone. The department encourages spreading the word to friends, family, and colleagues to donate and help meet the community’s blood needs.
