A family home was destroyed by fire in Templeton on Friday. Cal Fire firefighters responded at about 3 p.m. to the house fire at 4800 block Shadow Canyon, off of Highway 46 west in rural Templeton.

Two adults, children, dogs and pigs were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross was on scene to provided assistance to the family.

The double-wide mobile home is a total loss, officials said. The fire spread behind the home, burning less than an acre.

Due to the remote location, fire fighters delivered water to the scene with water tender trucks that filled up at Vineyard Elementary School, officials said. At least 12 pieces of fire fighting equipment reported to the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
